Spotlight Session: An SME’s Guide to Selling in China
What is a Spotlight Session? AmCham Shanghai has opened a promotional platform for companies to introduce products and services to interested members. These sessions are conveniently held at the AmCham Shanghai office and attendance is FREE.
AmCham Shanghai is pleased to present Jeffrey Albright, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for ESP International, whose presentation will focus on the “ins” and “outs” of selling in China with the content catered to the limited resource view of an SME. In addition, Albright will walk the audience through two case studies of companies that took very different approaches to the market.
Topics to be discussed in the session include:
Rules to live by when an SME enters the Chinese market
A discussion on the core elements of a selling strategy
A list of resources that can help with the development of a strategy
Thoughts on the decision to sell direct vs. sell through distribution
Two case studies to highlight the different approaches
About the Speaker:
Jeff Albright is the Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for ESP International. Prior to joining ESP, he spent 3 years as the Global CEO for Dunham-Bush, a manufacturer of Commercial HVAC equipment and systems whose headquarters are in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Albright served for 6.5 years as the President/Managing Director of the Asia Region for Briggs & Stratton Corporation based in Shanghai, China. During his tenure in Asia, Jeff oversaw the establishment of direct sales forces in China and Japan, new distribution centers in Shanghai and the Philippines, an R&D center in Shanghai, a low cost sourcing team in Shanghai, a JV factory in Japan and opened new plants in Chongqing and Shanghai.
