Member Training Program: Strategic Communication in Total Rewards

Effective communication is the cornerstone of any successful program and relationship. In today’s competitive environment, total rewards (compensation, benefits, work-life, performance and recognition, development and career opportunities) can make the difference in the attraction, motivation and retention of employees. However, creating or upgrading a competitive package of rewards is not enough. Instead, a major factor in becoming an employer of choice involves establishing awareness and understanding of the company’s rewards. Therefore, leveraging the strength of a total rewards package through effective communications is one of the most important challenges for the total rewards professional.

This training session will provide HR professionals with a framework of successful total rewards communications and how to best utilize communications to address various situations. Specific communications related to each of the total rewards elements are highlighted, as are suggestions for communicating special situations, such as a merger or acquisition.

Topics to be discussed include:

The Total Rewards Module
Foundation of Strategic Communication
The Strategic Communication Process 1-8
